Coming to Strasbourg
To fully enjoy the Christmas Markets, plan your trip to Strasbourg, the Christmas Capital, and choose the mode of transportation that best suits you. Whether by train, plane, car, or even bicycle, each option will allow you to reach the city with ease.
To help you find your way around the city centre and locate all the stalls and events, take along the Strasbourg Christmas Capital map, available from the info points at Place de la Gare and Place Kléber and in many other partner locations. To make the most of the Christmas atmosphere, I should plan my visit to the city centre in advance? The crowds are generally smaller on Mondays and Tuesdays, and larger on Wednesdays and weekends.

Getting here by car
The city can be reached via the A35 and then the M35 from Mulhouse and Basel, the A4 motorway from Paris and Metz and the N83 trunk road.
Don't forget to check the specific traffic regulations for Strasbourg and to equip your vehicle with the compulsory Crit'Air sticker by ordering it from the government website.
To get close to the city centre by car, we recommend that you use the park-and-ride facilities (P+R) located outside the city centre, as traffic and parking in the Grande-Île are strictly regulated over the Christmas period. These car parks allow you to park safely in Strasbourg and use public transport with a dedicated P+R pass to get into the city centre.
