Top 7 Tips for the Responsible Visitor
Published on 28 November 2024 Modified on 17 December 2024Strasbourg, Capital of Christmas, is committed to offering you a magical and environmentally friendly edition. Discover all our actions here and let’s act collectively with these simple gestures that make all the difference:
- To get around Strasbourg, I prioritise public transport, cycling, and walking.
- To fully enjoy the Christmas atmosphere, I plan my visit according to the crowds in the city centre. The crowds are generally lighter on Mondays and Tuesdays, and busier on Wednesdays and weekends.
- I participate in selective waste sorting by disposing of my waste in a dedicated bin or in a recycling station. This waste will then be recycled.
- I keep the reusable cup in which my first drink was served and reuse it throughout my visit to the Market.
- When I no longer need my cup, I return it to one of the Christmas Market stallholders selling beverages to retrieve my deposit, or I drop it off at one of the designated donation stations. The donations will be given to a charity in Strasbourg.
- To reduce waste production, I bring my own container to enjoy delicious traditional Christmas treats.
- I donate items in good condition that I no longer use by bringing them to the solidarity collection chalet located at the Village du Partage, Place Kléber.
