Come with your family or friends to discover a host of cultural events, made even more exciting during the Christmas period. Take the opportunity to discover or rediscover the traditions of Christmas through an exhibition, a show, a concert and a special program for Christmas.
Christmas preparations are under way… in museums…
Themed collections, varied and fascinating exhibitions, the Museums of Strasbourg form one of the largest networks of French museums and offer a rich With themed collections, varied and fascinating exhibitions, the museums of Strasbourg offer a rich and diverse cultural experience. Throughout the Strasbourg Capitale de Noël event, the Alsatian Museum will offer many tours and workshops with a focus on Christmas traditions.
The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art and the Tomi Ungerer museum – International Centre of Illustration have joined forces to present “SurréAlice” (November 19, 2022 – February 26, 2023). This exhibition in the two museums will display illustration and surrealism respectively, centered around the reception of the work of Lewis Carroll.
… in public libraries…
Christmas would not be the same without the feverish and exciting wait that precedes it.
To make that wait more enjoyable, five shows and as many workshops will be offered throughout December in the network of public libraries.

Christmas will be celebrated under the sign of “do it yourself” and conviviality:
- Sonia Verguet will lead a workshop for children around the famous bredele (yum!)
- Children could (re)discover the Christmas tree with their five senses! Tasting and crafts will be on the agenda!
- While others could dive into the fantastic world of Harry Potter, at the heart of Strasbourg and its marvelous heritage!

Enjoy charming melodies by attending the various concerts offered by the
Conservatoire in the Auditorium of the Cité de la Musique et de la Danse and by the Philharmonic Orchestra at the Palais de la Musique et des Congrès during the Christmas period.
The Conservatoire offers a musical Christmas from November 27 to December 16, with six free ensemble concerts, from quintet to large choir, at the Auditorium of the Cité de la Musique et de la Danse.
The Philharmonic Orchestra offers three concert events at the Palais de la musique et des congrès, including the Christmas concert on December 14 and the unmissable New Year’s Eve and New Year’s concerts.
Culture in Strasbourg reaches its high point at Christmas! Climb up to the platform of the Cathedral for a sweeping view of the illuminated city, visit the exhibition at the Archives and listen to the poetry brigades scattered around the Christmas Market.
