OZ, the Christmas shop for arts and crafts

OZ, the Christmas shop for arts and crafts

Published on 10 December 2024 Modified on 10 December 2024

From December 13 to 22, 2024, frémaa (the Federation of Arts and Crafts of Alsace) highlights the exceptional talent and craftsmanship of around fifty professional artisans by presenting a completely reimagined Christmas concept store.

In the centre of the Aubette Hall (1st floor), a boutique is designed to showcase the works of 35 artisans in ceramics, fashion and accessories, wall decoration, textiles, and jewellery. Surrounding this bustling shop, which offers a wealth of gift ideas for visitors in search of inspiration, 19 artisans have their own dedicated corners to display their latest creations, which are both contemporary and bold. Visitors can engage with them about their artistic approach and the secrets behind their craft. Situated in the heart of the Christmas market, this pop-up exhibition and shop provides lovers of unique pieces the opportunity to find an array of handmade, distinctive gift items, offering a local and mindful alternative for Christmas shopping, with an emphasis on quality and originality.

To celebrate the magic of Christmas, the "Tree of Creators" at the centre of this space allows visitors to admire and acquire limited edition hanging decorations, specially created for this event. A great variety of materials, forms, and styles ensure that everyone will find the perfect piece for their tree.

The Workshops: In a warm and welcoming atmosphere, both children and adults can take part in 12 artisan workshops, where they can learn various techniques (gilding, jewellery making, leatherwork, etc.) and create their own objects to offer as gifts or to decorate their Christmas tree.
