Chrìstkìndelsmärik is the Alsatian dialect name for the historic Christmas Market on Place Broglie. Established in 1570, it is one of the oldest in Europe and for a long time was the only one in France. After being held in various locations around the city — including the forecourt of the Cathedral, Place du Château, and Place Kléber — this unmissable event finally settled on Place Broglie in 1871.
