Overview
Chrìstkìndelsmärik is the name given in the Alsatian dialect to Strasbourg’s traditional Christmas Market. Born in 1570, it is one of the oldest in Europe and for a long time was the only one in France. After occupying various parts of the city (the Cathedral forecourt, Place du Château, Place Kléber, etc.), this unmissable highlight of “Strasbourg, Capital of Christmas” settled permanently on Place Broglie in 1871.
