Getting around by bike

How to get around by bicycle during the Christmas market?

Just like pedestrians, cyclists can access the historic city centre via all the bridges crossing the River Ill.

During the Christmas Market’s opening hours (11:30 a.m.–9:00 p.m.), we recommend taking the bike ring road to bypass downtown due to heavy foot traffic. Bike racks have been added right next to the bike ring road so you can park your bike and finish your journey on foot.

To access the city center by bike, you can also follow the smart route marked on the ground, which will take you through less crowded streets.

Lock your bike near this route to explore the city on foot with complete freedom.

For those visiting Strasbourg who wish to explore the city’s many attractions beyond its historic center, you can use the Eurométropole de Strasbourg bike rental service: Vélhop.

This service is available via self-service, at a rental station, or through click-and-collect.
