A Compassionate, Committed and Inclusive Christmas

engagé et inclusif

The Village of Sharing

As every year, the City of Strasbourg supports local associations by welcoming them at the foot of the Great Christmas Tree. This long-standing tradition fosters a moment of sharing, listening, and discovery, helping to nurture the spirit of solidarity during this festive season.

For this new edition, nearly 110 associations are gathered within 14 chalets to meet visitors and share the values they uphold daily: assistance to the most vulnerable, social inclusion, support for people affected by illness or disability, humanitarian aid, international sponsorship, the defence of human rights, and animal welfare.

The Village of Sharing also features unmissable events such as Volunteer Day and the “Solidarity Mannele” (5 December), Living Christmas Together (20 December), and the Starry Soup initiative.

The starry soup

For its 13th edition, the Starry Soup organised by the HUMANIS Collective of Solidarity Associations invites you to savour four seasonal velouté soups crafted by Alsace’s Michelin-starred chefs:

  • Autumn harvest velouté, by Cédric DeckertLa Merise, Laubach

Purchasing these soups helps sustain HUMANIS’s social integration activities and supports the projects of the solidarity associations within the Collective.

Acts of the Heart

For the first time, a specially designed map of the Christmas Markets has been created for people with disabilities.

Co-developed with local associations, it offers an accessible route, allowing everyone to enjoy the markets and their festive atmosphere with ease.

On the reverse side, general information and events are presented in Easy-to-Read and Understand (FALC) format, ensuring clarity and accessibility for all.

This initiative reflects Strasbourg’s commitment to making the “Capital of Christmas” accessible to everyone, so that all may fully experience the magic of the season.

Guided Tours for Visitors with Disabilities

To ensure an inclusive experience of Strasbourg, Capital of Christmas, specific guided tours are organised for people with disabilities on Tuesdays 2, 9, 16, and 23 December, led by an accredited guide.
