Snowballs – Winter Sweetness

Snowball Cookies
Soft and crackled, these powdered sugar-dusted treats evoke snowy winter landscapes. Their warm cinnamon aroma makes them the perfect indulgence for cosy evenings by the fire.
Ingredients (makes ~15 cookies)
- Plain flour 250g
- Unsalted butter 125g
- Soft brown sugar 150g
- Medium egg 1
- Ground cinnamon 1 tsp
- Icing sugar For dusting
Method
- Cream together the butter and brown sugar, then beat in the egg and cinnamon. Gradually fold in the flour to form a smooth dough.
- Shape the mixture into balls and place them on a lined baking tray, leaving space between each as they will spread during baking.
- Bake at 180°C (160°C fan)/gas mark 4 for 12–15 minutes, or until golden and cracked.
- Allow to cool slightly, then dust generously with icing sugar before serving.

Snowball Cookies take their name from their snowy appearance. Traditionally prepared for Christmas Eve in Alsace, their comforting cinnamon scent would fill homes during winter gatherings.
