Reinforcement of sanitary rules for the Christmas markets

Due to the worsening of the health situation, the sanitary rules are reinforced and must be strictly respected. These measures take effect from Friday, December 3 at the opening of the Christmas markets:

  • Masks must be worn in public during market opening hours across the entire scope of the Christmas market.
  • Access to the markets of Place Broglie, Place Kléber and Place du Château is only possible with a health pass.
  • Removing the mask to eat or drink something is only possible in dedicated areas. The presentation of the health pass will be necessary to access them. These areas will be extended to allow visitors to consume safely.
  • You must disinfect your hands with hand sanitizer before touching an item on any of the stands.
  • The respect of health measures (physical distancing, hand washing, sneezing into your elbow) is more important than ever.
  • The Christmas markets will close every evening at 8:00 pm.

The security forces ensure that the sanitary measures are respected and any person who does not respect the rules will be systematically penalized. As a reminder, failure to wear a mask is punishable by a fine of 135 euros.

What does "Pass sanitaire" mean ?

The French “health pass” is the presentation, in digital format (via the TousAntiCovid application) or on paper, of one of the 3 following health proofs:

  • Vaccination certificate
  • Proof of a negative RT-PCR or antigen test less than 24 hours old
  • A positive RT-PCR or antigen test attesting to recovery from Covid-19
