Le photographe strasbourgeois Simon Woolf a suivi pendant plus d’une année le personnel de la Fondation de l’Œuvre Notre-Dame dans ses deux ateliers, à proximité de la cathédrale et dans le quartier de la Meinau, ainsi que sur la cathédrale de Strasbourg. La taille de pierre, la sculpture, la menuiserie, le dessin, la pose, la forge, la conservation, le sciage, le bardage mais aussi la gestion des collections de la Fondation sont interprétés à travers l’œil et l’objectif de l’artiste. Il a su capter gestes, attitudes et passion et ainsi illustrer la Fondation dans la diversité de ses savoir-faire, inscrits au Patrimoine culturel immatériel de l’Unesco avec 17 ateliers d’Europe en 2020.
