Christmas decorations for small budgets
Published on 9 November 2022There are lots of excellent reasons for buying second-hand Christmas decorations…
- There is now a huge range available, from different periods and with different styles to fit in with everyone’s likes and needs
- Prices, of course, are much lower
- The decorations are usually in excellent condition, very often as new!
- When you buy second hand, you’re offering the baubles a new life and you’re also supporting the people involved in solidarity projects, which are often sources of new jobs
- There are special Christmas sales events run by several Strasbourg organisations in November and December
You’ll find below some handy addresses where you can find your Christmas solidarity decorations :
- Emmaüs Mundo, 1, rue de l'Atome à Bischheim from 2 November onwards.
- Communauté Emmaüs de Strasbourg, 5 Chemin de la Holtzmatt à Strasbourg. Sale of Christmas decorations at the Emmaüs community at the village du Partage (sharing village), Place Kléber, from 25 to 29 November, along with a selection of gifts. The community has also set up a special Plaisir d’offrir” (the pleasure of giving) sales event at the community, from 3 December until Christmas.
- Secours Populaire solidarity shop, 5 rue Jean-Henri Lambert in Strasbourg. As from 1 December: Christmas decorations on sale Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10 AM to 12 PM and then from 1 PM to 4 PM.
